Tropical Depression Ramil Intensifies

November 1, 2017 - Tropical Depression Ramil slightly intensifies going west of the Philippines at the speed of 18 KPH. Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to occasionally heavy within the 200 KM diameter of the Tropical Depression.

Residents of areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) #1 are alerted against possible Landslides and Flash-floods. Meanwhile, light to moderate with possible occasional heavy rains during thunderstorms will continue to prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Sea travel ramains risky over the areas with TCWS #1, as well as the Northern and Eastern seaboard of Luzon due to Tropical Depression and the surge of the Northeast Monsoon.

"RAMIL" is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrow evening or Friday early morning.


Areas with TCWS # 1:


  • Central Luzon
  • Cagayan Valley Region
  • Norther Quezon (including Polillo Island)
  • Mindoro Provinces
  • Palawan

Tropical Depression Ramil has a maximum winds up to 55 KPH near the center and gustiness of up to 75 KPH. 

Individuals going outside their homes are advised to bring rain coats, umbrellas and to wear boots for mud and floodwaters.
